What to Write on Your Christmas Card

You have your photo and a great design for your holiday cards, now what to add to your card? Do you write a yearly 'catch up' letter that goes out to friends and family? Or sometimes the photos speak for themselves....

Either way, when you add text to your card, you have several options. A short message or a bible verse or even a small paragraph with highlights from the year are all good choices!

For your message, below are some suggested phrases.  Depending on the font, the wording may look best in 'Titlecase' (where the first word in the text and names are capitalized), lowercase or maybe even all UPPERCASE.  A mix of both is always fun, too.

Check out the suggested wording for ideas and inspiration:

Although it's been said many times, many ways,
Merry Christmas to you!

Wishing you all things
Merry & Bright
and much love in the New Year,

May the holidays bring you
special moments and happy memories,

Have a holly, jolly Christmas!

Heartfelt holiday greetings
to you and yours,

Warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!

'tis the season

'tis the season
to be grateful!

'tis the season
to be merry!

'tis the season
to look forward!

Oh, what fun!

HO! HO! HO!

Sending good tidings and cheer,

Wishing you and your family a
BRIGHT &
Merry Christmas

Best Wishes for a Joyous Christmas

the gifts of love and peace,
may these be yours at Christmas
and all the year through

Wishing you peace, love, and laughter
in the New Year!

May your hearts and homes
be filled with the joy of the season,

We wish you joy and peace
this Christmas and throughout the New Year!

Wishing you a very
Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!

Have a wonderful Christmas
and a blessed New Year,

....and wild and sweet the words repeat,
of peace on earth, goodwill to men

...and you will have joy and gladness,
many will rejoice in His birth.  Luke 1:14

O Come, Let Us Adore Him

Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Let Heaven and Nature Sing!

May you have the gift of faith, the blessing of hope
and the peace of His love at Christmas and always,

Hark, the herald angels sing, Glory to the Newborn King!

May the wonder of that first Christmas
be with you always,

A thrill of hope,
the weary world rejoices

and a really fun idea for a friends & neighbors party:

The best way to spread Christmas cheer
is to invite your friends over
for chili and beer!

I love to use bible verses in my own Christmas cards. Lyrics from your favorite Christmas song would be fun, or even an iconic quote from a movie or TV show.  Fun or formal....it's the sentiment behind the cards that matter.
